My accountant told me that I did not qualify for the ERC. Then, after a while, my gut told me to field a call from Bottom Line and we started down the path together... me rather skeptically. But, once their staff convinced me that we were eligible and should at least apply, the process was relatively simple. Frankly, I got caught up on a couple of reports, but once their representative hopped on a call with me and walked me through the process, I was embarrassed at how easy the request actually was. Perhaps some more detailed "how to" sheets in key places would help folks like me. The only real delays were on my end... and the IRS' end. Once our application was complete and filed, Bottom Line informed me that this typically lasts 3-4 months at the IRS and their estimate was right on. Bottom line: I received high 5-figures NET of the fees that I gladly paid Bottom Line. Professional, easy to talk to, efficient, knowledgeable, and helpful are all good ways to characterize the Bottom Line professionals. Great work, Bottom Line.

I have to say that overall my experience was very good. The holes in the details provided to me via Bottom Line, and their high commission for the ERC, left us with less than 40% of the money received from the IRS. There are taxes on the back end of the ERC funding as the payroll taxes are backed out, which puts profit back into the business that is taxable. We had to file amendments on a few tax years and pay tax on the ERC money as if it was business profit. Do NOT spend the money you receive until you actually have your taxes re-filed. I didn't realize this until the very end. I would have tried to negotiate the commission and dove deeper into the details. Overall, however, I do believe it was worth my time and effort.
